Henry Ford was way ahead of his time, creating a sustainable car that was built of hemp in 1941. In 1941, Ford built the first-ever Hemp Car.
The design was built using only biomass from the hemp plant. Astonishingly, the shell of the car was 10 times stronger than steel and weighed only a fraction of what our cars weigh today.
Hemp was outlawed because it was direct competitor to powerful industries such as oil, steel, paper, and plastics.
Established industries were at risk of loosing billions in profits so they were able to squelch hemp production.
